What's the disadvantages of AGM batteries?
AGM Battery have some shortcomings: significant capacity drop during cold weather, Peukert law, or significant capacity drop when draining with high currents, they are bad for solar because they sufer from sulfation if not recharged up to 100% after drainging them, only around 700 cycles if discharged to more than 35%-40% DOD etc. All that is not that bad, but they cost marginally less than LifePo4 or other lithium chemistries, so they are not worth it.
this is what our customer say before they are using lead acid batteries.
AGM battery is kind of lead acid batteries. it's cheap, but it's chemistry characteristics determined it has memory effect. and dum working as man expected. if capacity drops significantly, this is not allowed in lithium ion batteries. we can have well design with high drain power supply and high temperature or low temperature working envirionment. therefore, lithium ion batteries won't have such problems as AGM or lead acid batteries.
