Solar battery

Solar battery is used in the application of storage battery in solar photovoltaic power system. At present, there are four types solar batteries are popular, including lead-acid maintenance-free battery, ordinary lead-acid battery, AGM gel battery and alkaline nickel-cadmium battery. At present, the most widely used solar batteries in China are lead-acid maintenance-free batteries and AGM gel batteries. These two types of batteries are suitable for reliable solar power supply systems, especially for unattended workstations, because of their inherent "maintenance-free" characteristics and less pollution to the environment.

Ordinary lead-acid batteries are mainly suitable for maintenance or low-grade occasions because of their frequent maintenance and large environmental pollution.

Although alkaline nickel-cadmium batteries have good low temperature, overcharge and overdischarge performance, they are only suitable for special occasions because of their high price.

With the widespread use of solar photovoltaic power generation system, more and more attention has been paid to the battery as a supporting system.

Solar batteries should have the following characteristics

Working Principle of Solar Storage Battery

During the daytime, the sunlight shines on the solar module, which generates a certain range of direct current voltage, converts the solar energy into electricity, and then transmits it to the intelligent controller. After the overcharge protection of the intelligent controller, the energy from the solar module is transmitted to the storage battery for storage; and the storage needs the storage battery, so-called storage battery is the storage of chemical energy. An electrochemical device that emits electrical energy in time.

The main components of lead-acid batteries are as follows:

Use and Maintenance of Solar Storage Batteries

(1) Suitable working temperature 15-20 C

(2) The connection method of solar battery is to connect the positive and negative poles of solar battery. This doubles the power of a solar battery, and the voltage is the same as that of a solar battery. The two poles of solar battery should not be short-circuited.

(3) For newly installed or renovated solar batteries charged for the first time, a long time charging should be carried out. For initial charging, the battery should be charged according to the rated capacity of 1/10 of the current. Before installation, it is necessary to measure the adequacy of the battery. If the power is insufficient, please charge the battery in the sunny place for more than 8-16 hours or charge the battery adequately with AC first. Overdischarge charging should be strictly avoided. When AC is normally charged, it is better to adopt the graded charging mode, that is, to charge with constant current of larger current at the initial stage of charging, and to change to the conventional constant voltage floating charging mode after charging with equal voltage and constant voltage for a certain period of time.

(4) Keep the battery clean. Installed solar battery poles should be coated with vaseline to prevent corrosion of poles.

(5) Install on-line monitoring and management technology for solar batteries. Measure and analyze the internal resistance of solar batteries on-line, find out the defects of the batteries in time, and maintain them in time.

(6) Prevent the solar battery from freezing and cracking in winter and direct sunshine in summer. Solar battery should be put in a ventilated and cool place.

Solar energy as a new type of clean energy is highly praised by environmentalists, but "the moon is cloudy and sunny, and the weather is windy and rainy." What should we do when there is no sun? Solar batteries exist for this reason.

The off-grid photovoltaic power generation system is a power generation system that converts solar energy into electric energy by the principle of photoelectric effect. It is usually composed of solar cell modules, controllers, batteries, DC/AC inverters and so on.

It is planned that the function of solar cell module is to convert solar energy into electric energy, supply load to work or charge battery pack; the function of controller is to protect the charge and discharge of battery pack; the function of battery pack is to store electric energy; the function of inverter is to convert direct current into alternating current. In the evening or rainy day, when the solar cell module can not work, the load is supplied by the battery pack.

The working mode of storage battery can be divided into recycling and floating charging. Frequent charging and discharging conditions, i.e. recycling, and floating charging, can compensate for the capacity loss caused by self-discharge of batteries. VRLA batteries used in photovoltaic power generation systems belong to the cyclic mode of use.

Identification method of quality

In order to make the battery system more reliable, first of all, it is necessary to choose accumulator accurately. UPS is different from communication battery in design: some batteries have better cycle characteristics; some batteries are suitable for start-up; some batteries are suitable for low temperature environment; some batteries are suitable for low current discharge, etc.

When selecting batteries, it is necessary to understand the differences in technology and usage of various batteries. First, it is necessary to fully understand the needs of users for products. For example, reserve power system capacity requirements, frequency of use, environment, main uses, service life, reliability requirements, instantaneous discharge rate, rectifier specifications and other battery-related performance requirements.

Secondly, we should understand the electrical performance of the battery, including product design parameters (battery type, appearance size, rated capacity, rated voltage, weight, specific energy, volume specific energy, design life, number of positive and negative plates, thickness ratio of positive and negative plates, electrolyte density, plate type, grid material), product electrical performance parameters, actual service life of the product. Installation and use environment, performance and price of different models, warranty period of different kinds of products, etc.
